Sulfur Bloom is a study in alchemy, a chawan where glaze becomes terrain. The rim begins in matte ochre, like sulfur dust on dry stone, then drips downward into a deep emerald green with glassy depth. But it doesn’t stay there: the surface breaks open, interrupted by areas of matte, bubbled glaze, as if air once hissed from cooling rock. Yellow, green, chalk white, and pale seafoam swirl across the textured zones, like mineral growth on a cavern wall. The interior mirrors this transformation.
